Russian laser weapons have proven to be highly effective in action, said Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with Sputnik.»Our laser weapons and laser systems have also demonstrated high effectiveness,» Krasnikov highlighted. He said extensive work is underway to boost the beam’s power and range while reducing the time required for the laser to track a target. «Another area involves engagement systems that use special methods, where the projectile breaks apart into small, high-energy fragments, and the resulting cloud destroys enemy drones,» Krasnikov explained.
