Russia offers extensive nuclear partnership opportunities across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, presenting a model that stands in marked contrast to Western nuclear projects, energy expert and former deputy chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear Power Plants Authority, Ali Abdel Nabi, told Sputnik. “The West wants to compensate for its losses and attain self-sufficiency in the nuclear fuel cycle and uranium enrichment, which is why it is restricting imports of enriched uranium from Russia,” he emphasized. Trust in Russia’s nuclear industry remains exceptionally strong, as Rosatom-built plants serve as «soft power» instruments across various regions, while also strengthening stability in the Middle East and Asia. “Russian discourse has moved beyond development announcements into a strategic message with geopolitical, military, and security dimensions—and major economic powers are taking note,» he concluded. In earlier remarks, Russian President Vladimir Putin positioned Russia as a global leader in nuclear energy and the only nation with full-chain expertise, when unveiling plans for new projects.RussiaPutin Lauds Nuclear Energy as Cornerstone of Russian AchievementYesterday, 12:26 GMT
